Short stories of nature

Hopper was a very kind snail at school. She always helped Ms. Ladybird to carry the books.

Torry was Hopper's best friend. He was a bee and every time he soared in the sky, Hopper wished he could do that too. And every time Hopper went into her shell, Torry wished he could do the same thing. Still, they could do the same things like playing on the see-saw, having a slow race, and much more! But their favorite thing to do was trying to be each other.

One day, Hopper was sliding along calling Torry's name. Thinking she was sick, she tried to gather some pollen from the flowers and make it to the hive. There she saw that Torry was pretty sick, and when Torry ate the pollen, he started feeling better again and buzzed around.

That is the story of Hopper the snail. They also realised that friendship is the best cure.

Short stories of nature

Cathy was a little girl who cared about everything and everyone. She like nature and had a garden of her own. One day, as she was walking in her garden, she saw a chameleon in the grass. It was camouflaging with the colour of the grass.

Suddenly, her neighbor's dog Bogh ran towards the chameleon and frightened him. It quickly went up a tree. It stayed there quietly without moving a muscle till Bogh left. Once he was gone, the chameleon went down the tree, and started sunbathing. Cathy was amazed! It could also change to brown.

Cathy immediately went to get a box from her house. It amazed her so much, she wanted to see what else it could do inside the box. She also put branches and leaves to make the chameleon feel at home. The chameleon however looked sad when it went in its new home. Cathy looked through her science books and found out that chameleons are supposed to live outdoors.

So, the next day, Cathy put the chameleon on the ground and it went on a nice piece of grass sunbathing again. Cathy learned that all animals were meant to be kept outdoors.

It was truly a chameleon on the grass.

Sun

Sun, sun, so bring in the sky,
You make things more fun,
Swirling, twirling, like a ballerina,
You make things more happier.

Keep for time

Down beneath the ocean deep, there was a fascinating kingdom of pretty mermaids. Often they would search for things to put in a collection called 'keep for time'.

One very pretty mermaid named Shelly had no idea what to put in her collection. She thought about it all the time. One day, as she was swimming along she found a very rare shell. It had polka dots and it was twirled around like a ballerina. So she brought it home.

Shelly had had a long day today and she took a nap. When she was dozing, a little hermit crab named Henry was walking along. He was delighted to see the shell. Why? Because another crab took his shell and he had no home.

When Shelly woke up she found her shell missing. She began to search for it. Finally, with no luck, she turned to head back to the castle. As she was heading back to the castle, she saw Henry, who was looking very pale. She softened her voice and said," It's OK, you can keep it."

Henry was delighted. He went and gave Shelly a hug. Shelly declared it a special shell and to prove that she painted a beautiful picture of it and put it in a glass case. It still may be there (but it was nice, right?), beneath the ocean deep, along with other objects the collection named 'keep for time'.

The ball that went up and did not came down

Mark and Sue were playing with their favorite ball.

Then, Mark threw the ball so high that it never came down! They waited for a long time, but there was no sign of the ball. They went home to talk about it. As they looked through their telescope, they realised that it had landed on Mars! They were open mouthed. What could they do?

After a while, Mark came up with a risky way, "Well, we could launch into outer space". Sue thought it was a stupid idea, but how else could they go there?

So they prepared for their expedition and joined the next group of Astronauts. Their mother had tears in her eyes, but she wanted her children to be adventurous and told them to go on. When the final day arrived, they were very excited. They launched into space and were heading for the moon, but the rocket then did a quick turn and headed to Mars. When they reached Mars a friendly group of Aliens were happy to see them and told them they found a ball just like Mark and Sue's. They told the Aliens to quickly lead them to the ball. It was in a small crater.

They then returned to Earth. There was a large crowd waiting for them. They weren't surprised when they saw two children coming out. Mark and Sue's mother saw the children and ran to them.

The President declared, although they are the last to go to space, they are the first children that that the spirits to go to space. Mark and Sue told him that it was the ball that made them go into space, and the gratefully gave the ball to him.

Weren't they surprised when they were in the museum and saw they ball that went up.... but did come down and had a new name!
